In BG Stats you can copy play data of previous plays to make logging a new play easier. Depending on your situation you can start the play from different locations in the app to copy exactly what you want.

Copying the Date
In the settings you can choose if you want to copy the date when copying a play with the “Also copy date when copying a Play” option.

The ability to make copying Plays customisable is on our wishlist.

🟢 Overview screen

Starting a play from the Overview screen will create an entirely new play, with no previous data copied.
If you have a Default Location, this Location will be automatically set.
Default Players will also be set, from the Location, if any, otherwise those from the General settings.

🟢 List of Plays

When you start a play from the list of Plays, you have to choose a Game. The Players and Teams, Location and Date* will be copied from the last play in the app. Of the Players their Seating order and Non-player flag will be copied.

  • If you play a few different games in a row with the same people, this is the best option for copying a play.

🟢 Game overview screen

When you start a play from the Game overview screen all data will be copied from the last play of that game: the Game (including Played copy), Players and Teams, Location, Board/variants, Expansions and Date*. Of the Players their Roles, Seating order, Start position and Non-player flag will be copied.

  • If you play the same Game with the same friends a lot you could copy from here, and adjust what you’ve changed.

🟢 Existing play screen

When you start a play from existing Play’s overview screen all data will be copied from that play: the Game (including Played copy), Players and Teams, Location, Board/variants, Expansions and Date*. Of the Players their Roles, Seating order, Start position and Non-player flag will be copied.

  • If you’ve just played a Game, and you immediately play again, you could copy from here, and adjust what you’ve changed.

Changing the game after Copying

You can always change the Game for the new play on the Edit Play screen. After selecting another Game, copied Board/variants and Roles will be removed, and the Played copy and Scoring settings will be set to the defaults for that game.

Never copied

The following are never copied into a new play: Scores, Winners, New Playerflags, Ignored for stats, Scoring settings, Comments and Images. Scoring settings are taken from the Game’s defaults.

* See above, this can be changed in Settings
