You can share plays using a QR code with one or multiple BG Stats users. After creating a code they can scan it to automatically receive the shared play(s), or you can share the code or link.

General information

After creating a QR code, it will be available for 7 days, after which it is automatically deleted.
You can view a list of the QR codes you created in Settings –> Export, import and backup –> Shared Plays. From there, you can view, share and delete them.

You can share any number of plays using the QR code. You don’t need a Cloud sync account for sharing or receiving QR codes. The link works cross-platform and can be shared using any messaging service.

Details that are shared: All play details, including player names, comments and score sheets.
Details that are not shared: Player details like user names, tags or notes.

A QR code created in BG Stats represents a unique link, that link can also be shared.

If you change any details in the shared plays after creating the QR code, these will not be shared.

This is available for all BG Stats users with v5.7 or higher.

Creating a QR code

One play

On the Play page tap the Share button and select “Share via QR code“.

Multiple plays

On the Plays list:

  • tap ‘Select’ at the top of the screen (this is the word ‘Select’ on iOS and lines with a checkmark on Android)
  • Select all the plays you want to share or tap ‘All’ at the bottom of the screen
  • Tap ‘Share… ‘
  • Tap ‘Share via QR code’.

At the top of the screen you will see how many plays will be shared.

You can now show your device to other players to scan the code or use one of the following options to share.

The picture of the QR code always also shows the BG Stats logo, the number of plays, the expiration date of the link and the actual link.

Copy Link

This copies the link of the QR code to the clipboard.

Share Link…

This opens the sharing options so you can share the link of the QR.

Share Image… (iOS)

This opens the sharing options so you can share the picture of the QR code.

Save… (Android)

Saves the picture to your gallery. After saving you can open te image, and share it from there.

Scanning a QR code or using the link

You can scan the QR code using any QR scanner app, or the default camera app (on iOS). When you scan a BG Stats QR code or, follow the link, you will get the Import plays (Matching) screen for the shared plays.
